In the narrow pols of Ahmedabad's walled city, Garba looks nothing like the arena spectacle it has become elsewhere. Last year's Heritage Garba brought raas back to the courtyards where it began — lamp-lit, intimate, and unamplified.
The old-city model
No ticketing gates, no sponsor banners. Neighbors host neighbors, and the singing passes from courtyard to courtyard through the night.
